The "Mina Dome" Planetarium held the training workshop "Identification and Recognition of Meteorites" on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.

According to the Public Relations of Abbasabad Cultural and Tourism Zone, this two-hour workshop aimed to familiarize participants with astronomical scientific concepts, covering topics such as the definition of comets, asteroids, and the conceptual differences between meteors, meteorites, and meteoroids.

This workshop, which received a good reception from the audience and enthusiasts, also discussed identifying stones that have the potential to enter the laboratory and undergo chemical analyses.

Additionally, at the end of the workshop, a small experiment was conducted on various meteorite samples to determine which stones were more likely to be meteorites. One of the standout advantages of this workshop was the direct interaction of the instructors with the participants, which enhanced the educational and experiential quality of the program.
