Tehran on the path to sustainable tourism development; drafting of the strategic document at the House of Poetry and Literature

The specialized session for drafting the strategic tourism document of Tehran, aiming to plan for the enhancement of the tourism industry and achieving sustainable development, was held in the Abbasabad Cultural and Tourism Zone.
According to the Public Relations of Abbasabad Cultural and Tourism Zone, this session was attended by Ahmad Alavi, the Head of the Tourism Committee of Tehran City Council, Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hejazi, the CEO of Abbasabad Cultural Zone, representatives of the Tehran Municipality Studies Center, the Tourism Headquarters, and a group of tourism activists and experts.
In this session, Ahmad Alavi emphasized the need for drafting a comprehensive document for Tehran's tourism, stating: "The strategic tourism document can act as a key tool for leveraging Tehran's diverse capacities and paving the way for sustainable development and economic prosperity. Among the most important principles of this document are preserving cultural heritage resources and their optimal use.".
He also stressed branding Tehran as an attractive destination for domestic and international tourists, adding: "Drafting this document will not only strengthen the city's tourism status but also contribute to job creation and improve the economic situation of the capital.".
Following this, Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hejazi, the CEO of Abbasabad Cultural Zone, highlighted Tehran's cultural and tourism capacities, saying: "The capital of Iran can become one of the prominent tourism destinations. With effective management and comprehensive planning, Tehran has the potential to attract more tourists, which requires precise data collection, analysis of upstream documents, and formulation of targeted programs.".
During the session, the present representatives and experts made suggestions on various areas, including infrastructure development, tourism marketing, human resource training, strengthening tourism products, and expanding international cooperation.
In conclusion, the participants emphasized the necessity of interaction and cooperation between the public, private sectors, and local communities and expressed their support for drafting this document.
These collaborations, along with the drafting of Tehran's strategic tourism document, will be a fundamental step towards sustainable development, creating a brighter future for the capital's tourism industry.
