Museum of the Islamic Revolution and the Holy Defense

The Museum of the Islamic Revolution and the Holy Defense is one of the largest museums in Asia, equipped with modern technologies and devices that showcase the contemporary history of Iran, with a focus on the Iran-Iraq War (1980-1988). The museum features seven halls, each narrating a part of the history of the glorious Islamic Revolution up to the post-war period. These halls are designed thematically and chronologically in seven sections, using a combination of volumetric, artistic, visual, and conceptual works to present the contemporary history of Islamic Iran.

Notable attractions of the museum include the garden path, artificial Lake Hoor Al-Azim, zip line, amphitheater halls, specialized library, Khorramshahr Panorama (360-degree view), Memorial of Unknown Soldiers, open-air museum, and a 5D cinema.

At the far west end of the National Museum of Holy Defense on Sarv Street and at the main entrance, there is a memorial for nine martyrs of the Holy Defense, who were buried there with a public funeral in Tehran on the day of the martyrdom of Lady Fatimah (SA) in 2011.
